West Nile Virus

West Nile Virus was first introduced to the United States in 1999, and made its way to California by 2002.  The disease, which is mosquito-borne, is most commonly found to be detrimental to birds, but can also be found in humans and horses.  The following websites explain more on the West Nile Virus epidemic and how to prevent it.
