2008 North Bay Forest Stewardship Workshops
Forest stewardship workshops in Marin and Sonoma County are designed to give the small property owner the tools and resources needed to maintain their forest parcels in a ecologically sound and fire safe manner.
Two workshops are coming up for Sonoma County in October of 2008. The introductory workshop will held in the Cazadero area on October 4th. Like last years workshops, it will focus on forest health, fire safety, water quality, and how to qualify for state aid when managing for particular goals that the state supports.
The second workshop will be held on October 18th in the Mill Creek area near Healdsburg. The focus of this workshop will be on the specifics of managing forests for particular goals, especially carbon credits and the potential sale of timber generated from fuels management operations.
