Record Books:

Record Books provide an opportunity for 4-H members to keep track of the events and activities they participate in over the year.   Members can earn Star Ranks in the 4-H Program. Keeping records is an important part of 4-H .  Some members go on to compete in record book competition at the State level.  They also have opportunities at some county fairs to compete and win prizes.

Primary Members between the ages of 5 and 8 years old can keep track of the 4-H activities and events they participate in over the year in a Rainbow Star book. If the member completes all the requirements for their age, they will earn a Rainbow Star to be worn on their hat for the year.   Downloadable Primary Record Book information and forms can be accessed  by clicking on the following links:  Rainbow Star Instructions   Rainbow Star Forms   Guided Story Forms

Junior Members ages 9 and up keep track of the events and activities they participate in over the year in the Project Development Report. If a Junior Member meets all of their requirements, they can earn a Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum Star. Each level involves a particular number of requirements that need to be met.

Senior Members maintain the Project Development Report but also have additional reports and stories to add to their record book for competition at State level. Most Seniors who go on to State Competition have earned the Platinum Star Rank in county competition.
