Marin County

COMMUNITY CLUBS

4-H2 copy

Community Clubs are led by volunteer adult leaders, who organize the club and serve as the key contact between the club and 4-H Office. Clubs may be general with several projects, or may be a specific project club. Clubs are established where volunteers are available. As a result, there may not be clubs in every geographical area of the county. Adult leaders and members may join any club in the county. Most clubs hold monthly business meetings, with project meetings varying from club to club.

Currently, there are ten community clubs. There are general clubs (with a variety of projects) in Mill Valley, Novato, San Rafael and West Marin. There are also special project clubs, including horse and shooting sports. Clubs conduct monthly business and project meetings during the school year. Dates and times vary from club to club. Participants complete an individual enrollment form and pay county and state fees. Fees are $12.00 for members, $6.00 for leaders.

Each project has adult volunteer project leaders. Projects are available in:

  • Animal Science
  • Engineering
  • Family & Consumer Science
  • Health & Leisure
  • Plant Science
  • Resource Science
  • Social Science.

For club contacts, please call the 4-H Office at (415) 499-4207.
